1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste.

For Filling -
One Small Onion - finely chopped
3 Tablespoon Masala Boondi

For Garnish -
Pinch of Red Chilli Powder
Some Lemon Slices

Method to Make Andhra Style Mirapakaya Bajji Recipe - Stuffed Chilli Recipe

  1. Wash the chillies and make a slit in middle. Deseed them and keep it aside.
  2. Make the batter -  Mix all the ingredients- besan, red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder in a bowl with 1/2 cup of water to a smooth thick batter. Consistency should be like a non-easy runny batter.
  3. Heat a kadai with oil to deep fry the chillies on medium-low flame.
  4. Check if the oil is hot by dropping a little amount of batter into the oil. If the batter easily rises up then it is hot enough for making bajjis.
  5. Dip the green chillies into the batter and coat it evenly, carefully drop the chillies into the hot oil. Turn the chillies after 30 seconds so that it has an even brown colour from all the sides.
  6. Take out the chillies using a slotted spoon and place it on a kitchen paper towel to drain the excess oil. Do the same for the rest of the chillies.
  7. For Stuffing - Mix onion and masala boondi together.
  8. Make a slit in the fried bajji such that it looks like a pocket. Fill the stuffing inside bajji.
  9. Garnish - Sprinkle some red chilli powder on top of all the bajji.
  10. Serve the Andhra Style Mirapakaya bajji along with hot cup of Masala tea for your evening snack.
